World Championship – learning from the best
The recent world cup in Brazil has been another great example of the “winning formula”. Learning from the best is simple but not easy!
At the recent World Cup in Brazil some other great examples of the “Winning Formula” were in evidence. You may remember that neither Brazil nor the Netherlands were really looking forward to playing for bronze medal. I am not writing today to celebrate the German victory. Instead am writing about “The Difference That Makes The Difference,” as we can and should all learn from the best. So, what has made the real difference in the end? Many teams had fantastic players and thoughtful coaches. The backbone of the German team, with the likes of Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Neuer, Müller and so on, were outstanding due to two main factors. First of all, they all had learned their lessons from previous finals, that they had lost. Reviews and lessons learned of lost sales are not popular but they are useful sources for some of the most important insights – that can help create your own “Winning Formula.” Secondly, the winners just wanted it more than any other. Well, that sounds odd, doesn’t it? You might say every player wants to win in a final. Yes, but only very few ones can still perform at their best in extra time, even if it is painful. Very, very few sales people are prepared for painful calls, cumbersome, protracted negotiations, for the step-by-step hand-holding until, finally, contracts are signed. Learning from the best is simple but not easy! Willingness to learn is a major ingredient in the “Winning Formula.” Persistence, the other.
Enjoy your day!
